Nebraska adds transfer portal long snapper

Nebraska football checked off a big addition to its to-do list as New Hampshire long snapper Kevin Gallic committed to the Huskers.

The 6-foot, 239-pound Gallic visited Nebraska this week and chose the Huskers over offers from UMass, TCU, Akron and others. He will have one season of eligibility in Lincoln next season.

Gallic, a New Jersey native, began his career at New Hampshire as a walk-on, but grew into one of the most consistent snappers at the FCS level.

Pro Football Focus gave Gallic an 88.9 grade for the 2024 season and Phil Steele named Gallic to his mid-year FCS All-American team this past fall.

Long snapper was one area the Huskers were wanting to address in the offseason after struggles at the position in 2024. Nebraska switched between Camden Witucki and Aidan Flege during the 2024 season, with snap issues hindering field goal efforts in several games.

Gallic isn’t the only potential addition for Nebraska’s special teams units. Former Washington punter Jack McCallister is also set to visit Nebraska this weekend as the Huskers seek for more depth to replace Brian Buschini.
