That’s the one-word answer to what Thomas Fidone wants to improve. Not that he’s dissatisfied with how it’s going. But where can it go? That’s the question. There are better routes to run. More physicality at the point of attack to possess. Making the hands and feet work with more precision.

«Just being able to keep an upward trajectory,» the Husker sophomore tight end said Tuesday of his second-half season goals. «I feel like each game I’ve gotten better and better. As a player that’s what you want. But obviously there’s a lot left on the table for me. I know I haven’t even touched where I can be and that’s what’s motivating. I have so much room for growth and improvement and I can’t wait to keep working to that.»
It’s Year 3 in the Husker program, but Fidone is really just six games into his career when it comes to full-time availability with two major injuries now in the rear-view.
While it’s no surprise that he’s been one of the most active pieces in a limited Husker passing game, his 12 catches (second most on the team) for 157 yards (third most) and three touchdowns (THE most) is a faster start statistical climb than we’ve often seen from Nebraska tight ends in their first year gaining starter’s reps.
It’s quite possible Fidone could outdo all but one tight end’s receiving stats over the course of the last five Nebraska football seasons.
