Nebraska will hit the road this weekend at Michigan State, seeking its fourth consecutive win and will do so as a slight favorite over the Spartans.
Oddsmakers weighed in Sunday afternoon and opened the week with Nebraska as a two-point favorite. Circa Sports has the game’s point total at 35.5 to start the week.
Nebraska comes in on a bit of a heater, having won its last three games, and most recently dispatching Purdue 31-14 in Lincoln on Saturday.
Michigan State, which fired head coach Mel Tucker mid-season, has lost six-straight games and is 2-6 on the season and 0-5 in Big Ten play. Michigan State went on the road this past weekend and fell 27-12 at Minnesota. That followed a 49-0 loss at home to in-state rival Michigan.

Nebraska owns a 9-3 advantage all-time in the series with the Spartans, with the teams splitting the last two meetings. Michigan State won 23-20 in East Lansing in 2021 and Nebraska won 9-6 in the snow in Lincoln in 2018. Nebraska’s last win in East Lansing came in 2012 when Taylor Martinez found Jamal Turner for a late score.
A win Saturday would get Nebraska to bowl eligibility for the first time since 2016. Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule said he’s aiming higher than just six wins.

«I was walking in (postgame) and I heard someone yell to me, ‘Coach, just one more. Just one more.’ I don’t want just one more. You want one more?,» Rhule said, via Husker247. «I want to try to win every game that we play. And I say that humbly. I want to try to come out every week and compete. I’m still mad about some of the games we lost. I’m still excited about the opportunities that are ahead.”
