Nebraska continues to be among most active recruiters of 2025 quarterback Alex Manske.
2025 Algona quarterback Alex Manske continues to add interest from college programs, but it’s no longer the local schools or neighboring states as Michigan and Tennessee have entered the picture.
Manske is planning a trip to Michigan for the Ohio State game after the Wolverines offered and entered the picture.
“Things have been kind of picking up but I’m also mainly visiting with the schools I’ve got offers from and learning more about them,”
He said.
“Some of the newer schools like Michigan has been texting me a good amount. Tennessee has been reaching out. Other schools like that too. It’s been pretty cool.
ebraska has built a top-25 football recruiting class in 2024 in Matt Rhule‘s first full season in Lincoln, but 2025 could be where the Huskers really make their hay.
Rhule and Co. already have three commits but are trending heavily to land a fourth, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
After an expert pick from HuskerOnline.com’s Bryan Munson, Nebraska holds a significant lead with Algona (Iowa) three-star quarterback Alex Manske.
Manske is the No. 517 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 35 quarterback nationally and No. 5 quarterback in Iowa.
On3, however, is higher on Manske than other recruiting services. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 24 QB.
Huskers have made Manske their No. 1 priority
The Huskers have hosted Manske four times since picking up his offer earlier this summer. The most recent of those visits came during Matt Rhule’s first home game against Northern Illinois, and he plans to revisit Nebraska later this season.
According to Munson, Manske is NU’s top target at the position in the junior class.
“Nebraska has settled in on their top quarterback target in the 2025 class,” he wrote last month. “Alex Manske from Algona (Iowa) is at the top of the Huskers’ board, and for good reason. He is 6-foot-3, weighs 205 pounds, and has an arm. Last week, Manske took it to Humboldt, going 12-for-17 and throwing for 245 yards and three touchdowns. He stands tall in the pocket, rolls out, tucks it and runs it from the quarterback position.
… What Nebraska fans will appreciate the most, however, is his ability to manage. To be more exact with my words, he does not make costly mistakes. You will notice that there was no mention of any interceptions last week. You can look through all of Manske’s games this season and not find one.”
Should Munson commit to the Huskers, he would join a trio of in-state three-star prospects already pledged to NU: safety Caden VerMaas, defensive lineman Tyson Terry and running back Conor Booth.
