Nebraska is on the board against Iowa after a huge play from Jaylen Lloyd. After Nebraska fumbled and allowed a field goal, the Cornhuskers were looking to take away Iowa’s momentum.
They were threatening to go 3 and out after a sack and a run for no gain, but then Lloyd torched Iowa’s defense and Chubba Purdy found him deep for a 66-yard touchdown to give Nebraska its first points of the game.Before the play, Nebraska had recorded just 43 yards on 15 plays. The 66-yard play was the most yards in one play Iowa has given up this season. Now Nebraska is looking to get a stop on defense and try to either tie or take the lead before halftime. Iowa is looking to build its lead before the end of the half.

Nebraska’s special teams unit stood up with their backs against the goal line to deliver a big-time play against Iowa. Ty Robinson was credited with a blocked field goal with Iowa looking to convert a short kick to break the scoreless tie.
That try by Iowa was set up by a fumble from Nebraska’s punt-return team. After forcing the Hawkeyes into a punt, Ethan Nation fumbled the ball right back to Iowa inside Nebraska’s red zone.
The good news is IOwa was forced backward by penalties and the Nebraska defense after previously marching into a 1st-and-goal situation from the 6-yard line. Ultimately, Drew Stevens’ 30-yard attempt was blocked by Robinson as Nebraska stood tall early on.
The two sides are facing off in frigid conditions in Lincoln on Black Friday, and points were already expected to be at a premium prior to the blocked field goal. Fans who bet the under are probably feeling even better after that short field goal was kept off the board by the Huskers.
