Here’s another portal name to keep in mind for the Huskers. Former Texas and Wyoming wide receiver Isaiah Neyor is planning to visit Nebraska this weekend, he confirmed to Husker247 on Tuesday afternoon.
Neyor entered the transfer portal in early December after two seasons in the Texas program. He was viewed as a major addition to the Longhorns program after a previous portal trip that drew attention from some of college football’s heavy hitters. But he suffered a torn ACL during fall camp in 2022, which prevented a major hurdle to overcome while in Austin. However, he does have a track record of success in college football – having played for Craig Bohl.
The 6-3, 215-pound receiver started his career at Wyoming, where he was an All-Mountain West performer following a 2021 campaign where he hauled in 44 receptions for 878 yards and 12 touchdowns as a sophomore. His 19.95 yards per reception and 12 receiving touchdowns both led the MWC and ranked sixth and eighth in the FBS, respectively. He had back-to-back 100-yard games against the likes of Boise State and Utah State that season.
Neyor played high school ball down at Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas. He was a second-team All-District 4-6A selection in 2018 before his college career, with 858 yards and eight touchdowns, helping his team to an 11-2 record.
Nebraska certainly has shown it is interested in possibly adding the right fit to its young receivers room.
Jahmal Banks, who stacked up a strong resume at Wake Forest, said in a message exchange with Husker247 on Tuesday morning he was planning to visit Lincoln this weekend.
Meanwhile, at the running back spot, former Oregon back Dante Dowdell has been expected to visit and nothing has changed there. He is «absolutely» set to check out Nebraska this weekend his father, Lawrence Hopkins.
