Nebraska football commitment Tyson Terry got a fourth star from Rivals, plus more Nebraska Cornhuskers news.
We have been talking about Nebraska football and its work in the 2025 class. The Huskers have been busy setting up visits and priorities are taking shape. They are also leading for a four-star QB.
However, the Huskers already have one of the best players in the state of Nebraska in the 2025 class committed and that’s Tyson Terry.
The 6-foot-2, 279-pounder has been committed to Nebraska football since last June. He’s also a dominant wrestler in addition to a football player and just won his third straight state wrestling championship in the heavyweight division.
I’m sure that he’ll be a four-time champion a year from now. He’ll also be signed as a Nebraska Cornhusker by then and according to Rivals at least, his recruiting ranking is moving up. Rivals upgraded him to a four-star recruit. He’s ranked third in Nebraska and 19th among defensive tackles.
Nebraska basketball bracketology similar after a loss
It was a rough night for Nebraska basketball. Nothing seemed to go right for the Huskers who shot just 30 percent from 3-point range. The Huskers live and die by the three and they died by it on Thursday. They also died a slow death via the free throw line as Ohio State attempted 28 free throws compared to eight for Nebraska basketball. That differential was the difference in the game.
Yet, the loss doesn’t seem to have hurt the Cornhuskers NCAA tournament resume. All 109 bracket projections via Bracket Matrix have the Huskers in the field. Joe Lundari also released his morning update and didn’t have Nebraska among the first four byes, which is where they were before their recent four-game winning streak.
A win over the Buckeyes would have guaranteed the Huskers a berth. But as long as they win at least one of the last two regular season games (home vs. Rutgers, at Michigan) they should be fine.
Nebraska Cornhuskers rally for baseball win
Nebraska baseball lost a couple of games in the ninth inning on the first weekend of the season. But on Thursday, they got some semblance of redemption by rallying from a 5-1 deficit to defeat the College of Charleston 6-5.
Riley Silva tied the game with a two-run hit in the top of the ninth, setting the stage for the Cole Evans game-winning RBI in the top of the 10th. Evan Borst got the win with a scoreless bottom of the 10th and Nebraska baseball improved to 5-3. They will face Charleston again on Friday at 3 PM CST.
