A quick look at former Huskers who have signed NFL free agency deals so far this spring. The NFL free agency carousel has been spinning fast the past few days and a number of former Husker free agent players have begun to sign contracts around the league. Here’s a quick and running list of where former Huskers have signed so far:
Maliek Collins: The former Husker defensive tackle was dealt from the Houston Texans to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a seventh-round pick. Collins will be entering his ninth season in the league next year, and is coming off a season in 2023 where he appeared in 16 games and made 38 tackles and five sacks.
Jack Stoll: Tight end Jack Stoll is moving to a cross-division rival after agreeing to a one-year deal with the New York Giants. The 6-foot-4, 247-pound Stoll made the Eagles roster as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska, and made 50 appearances for the team. Stoll has 20 career catches for 183 yards and has played in five NFL playoff games, including Super Bowl LVII.
Lavonte David: The productive linebacker will be back for another season in Tampa Bay after agreeing to a one-year contract with the team. David is set to earn $9 million on the deal that could climb to $10 million with incentives. Next season will be the 13th in the NFL for David, who appeared in 15 games last season for Tampa Bay, making 117 total tackles, 4.5 sacks and defended five passes. David has 1,355 career tackles in 181 career NFL games.
Stanley Morgan Jr.: After five seasons in Cincinnati, New Orleans native Stanley Morgan Jr., is headed home. Morgan Jr., inked a one-year deal with the Saints that will reunite Morgan with former Nebraska wide receivers coach Keith Williams.
In Morgan’s five seasons with Cincinnati, he was a standout on special teams, totaling 30 tackles in 51 games. He has five career NFL catches for 29 yards.
Khalil Davis: The former Husker defensive lineman will remain with Houston, signing a one-year deal with the Texans. Davis worked his way into the Texans’ defensive line rotation last season, appearing in 15 regular season games, tallying 32 tackles and 2.0 sacks and forcing a fumble.
