The Nebraska football team’s first major official visit weekend of June has produced an impactful defensive commit.
Hitchcock (Texas) defensive lineman Malcolm Simpson announced his commitment to Nebraska on Sunday immediately following his official visit to Lincoln. The four-star prospect helps fills position of need as the second defensive line commit in Nebraska’s 2025 recruiting class and 11th entrant overall.
A 6-foot-3, 235-pound prospect, Simpson is also a talented basketball player whose athleticism stood out to NU defensive line coach Terrance Knighton. The Husker assistant is the program’s lead recruiter in Houston and forged a strong relationship with Simpson, who he offered on May 20.
Balor, Texas A&M and Texas Tech were among Simpson’s other top options.
