Martinez won a championship and MVP honors in the UFL this spring. Former Nebraska Huskers quarterback and fan favorite Adrian Martinez is back on an NFL roster. He officially signed with the New York Jets on Saturday morning. The 24-year-old starred for the Birmingham Stallions in the United Football League (UFL) this spring, winning the championship and MVP honors. He spent last NFL preseason with the Detroit Lions.
Martinez played in 39 games for the Big Red from 2018-2021 before finishing his collegiate career with one season at Kansas State. Over those 39 collegiate games as a Husker, completed 63.5% of his passes for 8,491 yards with 45 touchdowns and 30 interceptions while rushing for another 2,301 yards and 35 touchdowns.
