Husker football remains undefeated through three games for the first time since 2016. Nebraska football (3-0) defeated FCS Northern Iowa (2-1) 34-3 Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
It was the first matchup against the Panthers for NU, which is ranked in the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2019. Nebraska is now 15-0 against FCS opponents.
Dylan Raiola was 17-23, passing for 247 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Nebraska’s availability report was a shocker as it said Micah Mazzccua is out along with Blye Hill and Javin Wright. Jimari Butler was listed as questionable.
Raiola’s pass was complete to Carter Nelson who ran for 24 yards for his first six points as a Husker.

The Panthers’ Caden Palmer kicked in a 31-yard field goal to get them on the board. Nebraska led 7-3.
Raiola passed it to Isaiah Neyor who ran for 18 yards into the endzone, and Omaha native Tristan Alvano kicked it in for the extra point. Nebraska led 14-3.
Jaylen Lloyd catches the pass and hauls it down 59 yards which allowed Jacory Barney Jr. to rush it in for a touchdown and extending the Husker lead, 20-3.
Alvano was back at it and got Nebraska the extra point. They lead 21-3 with 6:51 left in the first half.
The score remained 21-3 as the teams headed into the locker room.
Northern Iowa’s Aidan Dunne’s pass was intercepted by Nebraska’s Malcolm Hartzog Jr. for his second interception of the year.
Alvano kicked a 31-yard field goal to bump up the Huskers’ lead to 24-3.
Alvano was back with 43 seconds left on the clock to add a 21-yard field goal for the Huskers. Nebraska led 27-3.
Emmett Johnson rushed for 36 yards for the Huskers’ first touchdown during the second half, and after Alvano’s kick was good, Nebraska led 34-3.
Nebraska held UNI to 34-3 through the final.
