Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule is putting the university’s private plane to good use this week as he flies around the country visiting top recruits and trying to lockdown 2025 commits as well as spread the word about the Huskers to the top targets.
That took Rhule to Nixa, Missouri, where five-star Jackson Cantwell plays. The offensive lineman Tweeted out a short clip of Matt Rhule saying he was excited to swing by and see the talented recruit.
It’s only a short visit and since Cantwell is a 2026 Rhule is limited in terms of overall contact, but it’s still an important trip and a continuation of the Huskers strong interest in the lineman.
Cantwell has made several of his own trips up to Lincoln and has a good relationship with Nebraska’s staff including Rhule, who visited with the offensive lineman ahead of the Colorado game, where the Huskers did a nice job singling out the recruit on a day with a lot visitors in town.
Nebraska is one of several schools Cantwell is considering, but the Huskers are more than just a logo in a top group, as the lineman has developed one of his strongest relationships with the program.
«Nebraska is still recruiting me hard,» Cantwell said in late October. «The message is that they’re gonna keep recruiting me as long as they can because they see me as someone that could be a great addition to their 2026 class.»
The Huskers have two commitments in the 2026 class and will continue pushing for Cantwell who told Husker247 he plans to be back in Lincoln sometime next spring.
