The Nebraska football team’s struggles continued on Saturday afternoon. The Huskers suffered their fourth straight loss, falling to the USC Trojans 28-20 in Los Angeles.
The Trojans offense had success against the Husker defense. USC ran 67 plays for 441 yards for an average of 6.6 yards per play. Nebraska ran 63 plays for 310 yards for 4.9 yards per play.
USC quarterback Jayden Maiava went 25-of-35 for 259 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola was 27-of-38 for 191 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Woody Marks led the Trojans with 19 carries for 150 yards with an average of 7.7 yards per carry. Emmett Johnson and Dante Dowdell led the Huskers ground game with 55 and 52 yards respectively.
Mason Cobb led the USC defense with nine tackles while Jaylin Smith added six tackles and an interception. Nebraska’s John Bullock had seven tackles and a pass breakup while Ceyair Wright added four tackles and an interception that he returned for a touchdown.
The Huskers fell to 5-5 overall and 2-5 in the Big Ten Conference in the loss. The Trojans improved to 5-5 and 3-5 in the league with the win.
Nebraska returns to action next Saturday, Nov. 23, when the Huskers welcome the Wisconsin Badgers to Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT on Big Ten Network.
