Another piece of the puzzle for the Nebraska defense moving forward has fallen into place.
With roster decisions looming ahead of the transfer portal window opening and players needing to evaluate fifth or sixth-year eligibility options, Nebraska football’s veteran players have been making their decisions.
Head coach Matt Rhule said last week that defensive starters Marques Buford and Jimari Butler plan to return for the 2025 season.
Defensive lineman Elijah Jeudy wants to come back too. The third-year Husker announced the move on social media Sunday, posting «Run it back one last time?» before confirming the decision to return for his senior year by saying «I’m all N.»
Jeudy has appeared in 23 of Nebraska’s 24 games during his two years with the program, having began his career with Texas A&M prior to joining ahead of the 2023 season.
A key option in the interior of the Husker defense this season, Jeudy played 20 or more snaps in four different games and over 175 snaps in total, excelling as a run stopper in select defensive packages. He recorded nine tackles, 1.5 for a loss, during the regular season.
