Husker defensive back Koby Bretz has entered the transfer portal, according to a source.
The Omaha Westside grad joined the program in 2021 and has one more year of eligibility remaining.
Bretz participated in 17 games over his four years in the program, including five this past season. He had three tackles, with wo stops at Indiana, including his first career TFL. He played in 10 games in 2022 and had three tackles.
He was a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. As a senior at Westside, Bretz had 54 three interceptions, four passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery, according to MaxPreps. On offense, Bretz led Westside with 37 catches for 583 yards and eight touchdowns, adding nearly 200 return yards.
The Huskers have to trim a roster of about 150 players to 105 by next season. Rhule said earlier this week during a Pinstripe Bowl press conference Nebraska still had about 130 getting ready for the bowl game.
