Nebraska wide receiver Jaylen Lloyd has entered the transfer portal, Husker247 learned Monday per a source. Lloyd’s Husker career comes to a close after a pair of seasons that saw Lloyd appear in 23 games and make four starts. This season, Lloyd appeared in 13 games and made 13 catches for 255 yards.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound Lloyd was part of Matt Rhule’s first recruiting class and was the first offer made after Rhule officially accepted the Husker job in November 2022.
Injuries in the Husker wide receiver room in 2023 thrust Lloyd into a regular role. Lloyd appeared in 10 games the season, making one start. Lloyd showed himself to be a deep-ball threat, catching six passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns. Lloyd averaged 39.5 yards per catch, and each of his three touchdown receptions covered at least 58 yards.
Lloyd will have two years of eligibility and a redshirt available at his next stop. In addition to his work on the football field, Lloyd was also a jumper on Nebraska’s track and field teams. During the indoor track season last year, Lloyd finished fifth in the long jump (24-3 1/2) and seventh in the triple jump (50-0) at the Big Ten Championships. Outdoors, Lloyd placed fourth in the Big Ten in the long jump (25-1 3/4) and 12th in the triple jump (50-1 3/4).
Lloyd played 195 snaps this season, following 136 snaps in 2023. He played three snaps in Nebraska’s season-ending win over Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl.
