The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Smith-Flores began his career at tight end before moving to linebacker prior to this season.
Smith Flores redshirted last season, and appeared in a pair of games this season for Nebraska, including the season-opener against UTEP when Smith Flores had a four-yard tackle for loss.
The Texas native was part of Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule’s first recruiting class in Lincoln. He played for Nebraska’s initial tight end coach Bob Wager at Arlington-Martin High School.
