Nebraska will get one of its veteran safeties back in 2025 thanks to the ruling that granted an extra season of eligibility for seniors who played in junior college.
Safety DeShon Singleton announced on social media that he will return for another season of eligibility in 2025. Singleton was headed toward pursuing a professional career before a ruling in the Diego Pavia case cleared the way for seniors who made a stop at junior colleges to return in 2025.
Singleton was a single-digit recipient for Nebraska in 2024 and started all 13 games, logging 71 tackles with 1.0 tackle for loss, a career-high three pass breakups, one interception and one fumble recovery.
Singleton spent a year at Hutchinson (Kan.) CC before coming to Nebraska and his return gives the Huskers a veteran presence in the secondary, which will replace rover Isaac Gifford and cornerback Tommi Hill.
