Nebraska tight end Thomas Fidone will participate in the Senior Bowl, after officially accepting an invitation this week.
Fidone showed up this week on a list of underclassmen who had declared for the NFL Draft, and the Husker tight end will get a chance to workout for NFL teams in Mobile, Alabama. The game will be held Feb. 1 and will be broadcast on the NFL Network and the practices leading up to the event are an opportunity to show off for NFL teams and improve draft stock.
Fidone, who was the No. 1 tight end in the 2021 recruiting class according to 247Sports, battled multiple knee injuries during his time in Lincoln and put together a pair of productive seasons in 2023 and 2024.
He appeared in 26 games over the last three seasons, making 17 starts. In 2024, Fidone caught 36 passes for 373 yards, which followed the 2023 season where Fidone caught 25 passes for 260 yards and four touchdowns.
The tight end had his best game of the 2024 season in Nebraska’s loss to Indiana, catching six passes for 91 yards. The 91 yards were a career-high for the Council Bluffs, Iowa, native.
Fidone is the third Husker player to accept a Senior Bowl invite, joining defensive lineman Ty Robinson and cornerback Tommi Hill.
