Mediaset suprime ‘Caiga Quien Caiga’ de su programación ante la llegada de ‘Supervivientes 2025’ y tras el fracaso en audiencias del regreso del mítico formato.
Mediaset is closing the new stage of ‘Caiga Quien Caiga’, after a month of broadcasts and only seven episodes on Sunday nights. According to what El Televisero has been able to verify after consulting sources from the network, the return of the historic format presented by Santi Millán will say goodbye on March 2.
With this move, the group is putting all its cards on the table in its successful bet on reality shows, with the arrival of ‘Supervivientes 2025’. The channel has officially confirmed that the new edition of the reality show will premiere on Thursday, March 6. In this way, the gap left by ‘CQC’ will be filled from March 9 by ‘Supervivientes. Conexión Honduras’, which will be offered on Sunday nights from 10:00 p.m. with «Sandra Barneda at the helm and in permanent connection with Laura Madrueño.»
In this way, the legendary programme of the men in black, which returned 15 years after its last season with Santi Millán, Lorena Castell and Pablo G. Batista as new presenters and a new batch of reporters, will not be relocated to any other time slot or day, but will be removed from Telecinco’s programming and with no return date planned on the table, according to sources from Mediaset confirmed to El Televisero.
Its failure in ratings is behind this drastic decision, after registering an average audience of 8.2% and 990,000 viewers, in its five episodes broadcast to date. The programme did not take advantage of the nostalgia factor and premiered with a timid 9% and 1,128,000 viewers on January 19.
‘Caiga quien caer’ plummeted, registering a historic low in its fourth broadcast, being the last option of the night with an unacceptable 6.7% and barely 821,000 viewers, weighing down the data from the ‘GH DÚO’ debate. A figure that recovered slightly in the fifth program, last Sunday, with 8.2% and 969,000 viewers.
