Rachel, an American citizen, and Jon, based in the UK, struggled to make their relationship work while Jon waited years for his visa approval. This past weekend, Rachel took to social media to announce the official end of her marriage. In a TikTok video shared on Instagram, Rachel proudly declared that she is now “single as a pringle” and happier than ever. “This is me speaking for me, and I’m finally baaaaack!” she wrote in the video’s caption, asking her followers for suggestions for a new Instagram name.
Rachel revealed that the divorce had been a long time coming. Although Jon had the divorce paperwork since October, he delayed signing it, citing a busy work schedule. In January, Rachel had a friend serve him the papers, giving him 30 days to respond. However, when Jon still didn’t sign, Rachel decided to move forward without his approval. “Needless to say, I moved on without his signature because he did not sign… again,” Rachel explained.
Now that the divorce is final, Rachel has reverted to her maiden name and is embracing her newfound freedom. «Single as a pringle and happier than ever!» she shared with her followers.
In a message directed at Jon’s new girlfriend, Rachel offered a warning: “Just keep in mind, when you’re the background object in his videos, there’s a reason for that. If he posts things about you online and only tags you in it, there’s a reason for that. All of these things are for him, not for you,” she cautioned, although she also emphasized that it’s no longer her concern.
Rachel’s post seemed to catch Jon’s attention, as he responded with a since-deleted Facebook message, calling Rachel’s behavior «snarky and bitter.» He also expressed that her warning to his new girlfriend was «unnecessary» and wished Rachel well.
In the meantime, Rachel hinted at sharing more details about her divorce and why she’s thrilled to resume her maiden name. In a reply to a follower asking about Jon’s potential move to the U.S., Rachel shared that the marriage ended because she was no longer happy, and their values had diverged over time.
