Huskers are one of quite a few options on the board for four-star linebacker Calvin Thomas.
Sometimes, the easiest way to narrow down a lot of decisions is to simply cut them in half. That’s what Cypress (Texas) Ranch High School linebacker Calvin Thomas has done. With nearly 30 offers, he’s now in the top 15, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers are one of those options.
Thomas, who has been a highly coveted defensive back for the past three months, began fielding offers in January, and the Huskers weren’t far behind in the first wave.
Now Nebraska is in contention along with North Carolina, Michigan, SMU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor, Wisconsin, Oregon, Illinois, LSU, Notre Dame, TCU, Texas, and Houston.
Nebraska’s chances depend entirely on the 6’1″, 215-pound defensive back arriving in Lincoln, either this spring or summer. Much of Thomas’s list is made up of teams from his home state, making Nebraska, a long shot, even more unique. The 2026 247Sports Composite four-star player finished his junior year with 69 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks and one interception.
