The Huskers are grouped with No. 5 national seed North Carolina, two-seed Oklahoma and four-seed Holy Cross. Nebraska and Oklahoma will meet in the first matchup of the regional. Oklahoma went 35-20 on the season, finishing 26th in the RPI with 11 quad-one wins. The Sooners dropped seven of their last 10 at the end of the season. Nebraska and Oklahoma last met in 2024, a 7-6 Sooner win at Globe Life Field in Texas.
North Carolina went 42-12 in the regular season and beat Clemson on Sunday to win the ACC Championship. The Huskers and Tar Heels have met just once — a 10-4 Nebraska win in 2004. The Huskers have played Holy Cross once all-time. Holy Cross ended Nebraska’s stay at the 2017 NCAA Tournament in Corvallis, Oregon.
Nebraska earned the Big Ten’s automatic bid by running through the league tournament and knocking off UCLA 5-0 on Sunday behind 8.0 shutout innings from right-hander Ty Horn.
Nebraska finished its season at No. 51 in the RPI rankings, but profiles well with a No. 37 strength of schedule overall and a No. 34 non-conference strength of schedule. The Huskers own eight quad one wins and hold several non-conference wins, including wins over host teams Vanderbilt, Oregon State, Oregon and UCLA.
The Huskers will be making their second consecutive NCAA Tournament and the third under head coach Will Bolt.
