Florida State Intensifies Pursuit of 4-Star CB CJ Bronaugh Following Successful Official Visit.
The Florida State Seminoles are making a strong push to flip four-star cornerback CJ Bronaugh, currently committed to Nebraska, after he concluded a highly impactful official visit to Tallahassee this past weekend. Bronaugh, a top-ranked in-state prospect, left the FSU campus with a significantly elevated impression of the program, signaling a potential shift in his recruitment.
Bronaugh lauded his experience, emphasizing the positive atmosphere and strong personal connections forged with the coaching staff and players. «The whole visit itself was really, really good. I liked getting back with all of the coaches, being with the players. They really have a good culture here and it’s nice,» Bronaugh stated.
The talented cornerback highlighted his appreciation for gaining a deeper understanding of the Tallahassee area and the genuine camaraderie within the Seminoles’ program. He also noted the detailed discussions surrounding his potential development at FSU. «Just really getting to know the area more. Talking to the coaches, players — seeing that bond that Florida State really has. And them talking about how they can develop me here is obviously really good too,» he added.
Bronaugh spent considerable time with Safeties Coach Evan Cooper, Cornerbacks Coach Patrick Surtain Sr., and Head Coach Mike Norvell. These interactions solidified existing strong connections, reinforcing his belief in their coaching abilities and their commitment to his personal growth. «They’re all really good people, good coaches. And I know that they can build me into the man I’m really supposed to be, on the football side,» Bronaugh explained. He particularly enjoyed his conversations with Coach Norvell, describing him as «a very energetic guy.»
Coach Norvell’s direct message to the 6-foot-1, 166-pound prospect underscored his importance to the Seminoles, emphasizing a desire for Bronaugh beyond just his athletic contributions. «He was telling me I’m a priority. He’s going to want me for more than just football, but for who I am as a person,» Bronaugh recounted regarding Norvell’s personalized appeal.
Despite a positive outcome from the FSU visit, Bronaugh maintains his commitment to Nebraska, albeit with a caveat. «I’m just going to see this last visit and I’m still locked in with Nebraska obviously but things can change. But right now it’s still Nebraska,» he affirmed.
Bronaugh has one final official visit scheduled with Penn State next weekend. His ultimate decision will follow this trip, as he weighs his current commitment against the strong impressions left by Florida State, and potentially the Gators or Nittany Lions. The Seminoles’ recent efforts have undeniably elevated their position in the highly contested recruitment of this promising in-state talent.
