Dayton Raiola, the promising quarterback committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, has kicked off his senior high school season with a strong nationally-ranked win. Leading his team, Buford (Ga.), Raiola secured a 20-13 victory over Milton (Ga.) in a game broadcast on ESPN.
The matchup marked the debut of Buford’s new $62 million stadium, and the team celebrated the occasion by snapping Milton’s 25-game winning streak. Although the game was heavy on flags, Raiola delivered a solid performance to start his final year.
The left-handed quarterback showcased his arm talent and mobility on the field, completing a 42-yard pass in the first half that helped set up a touchdown. In addition to his strong arm, Raiola demonstrated excellent elusiveness in the pocket, leading three scoring drives that were crucial in securing the win. Despite throwing an interception in the first half, Raiola’s overall performance was a clear indication of his potential.
