The proposed deal would be a significant one, with Montreal adding Sharangovich in exchange for forward Josh Anderson, young prospect Owen Beck, and a 2026 first-round pick. The Canadiens, who finished 22nd in scoring last season, would get a top-six forward who is a proven goal-scorer.
Sharangovich, who is entering the first year of a five-year, $28.75 million deal, had 17 goals and 32 points last season but recorded an impressive 31 goals and 59 points the year prior.

Despite the Habs having made some big moves already, general manager Kent Hughes has not ruled out more changes, stating his focus is on building a team capable of competing for the Stanley Cup. The proposed trade idea would align with this goal, as it would add a significant offensive piece to a lineup that is looking to improve on its first-round finish.
