90 Day Fiancé best friends Molly Hopkins and Cynthia Decker recently ended their friendship, but the split could have been for publicity.
Molly, a 47-year-old Georgia woman, was not a reality TV newcomer when she showed up on 90 Day Fiancé season 5 to get married to Luis Mendez. In 2013, Molly had her own show with Cynthia called Double Divas. After her divorce from Luis, Molly stayed in the TLC franchise with Cynthia, her BFF and co-founder of LiviRae Lingerie. Fans enjoyed watching Molly and Cynthia on Pillow Talk until the inevitable happened.
In December, Cynthia shocked viewers by declaring she and 90 Day Fiancé’s Molly Hopkins are no longer friends. She claimed she didn’t know if she would be a part of Pillow Talk episodes in the future as well. And more importantly, within days after the news of Molly and Cynthia’s split, there were rumors of Molly and her boyfriend Kelly Brown breaking up as well. Kelly, a cop from New York who met Molly online, was with her on 90 Day: The Single Life. Kelly retired from his job, and even moved to Georgia where Molly lives.
A few days ago, Kelly seemingly revealed what caused his split with Molly. He posted a screenshot of an email he received from Molly’s daughter Olivia, in which she defended herself for being a “white spoiled person,” and ended it by using a racial slur. In turn, Olivia claimed Kelly had allegedly choked and slammed her. While fans were reading about this shocking development, Reddit user u/Kalykollects posted a screenshot of Kelly’s selfie from his Instagram page and wrote, “are we not gunna talk about Cynthia commenting on Kelly’s pics.”
In the photo, a comment by Cynthia showed a heart and a pair of applauding hands under Kelly’s selfie. “I feel like at this point they’re making up drama to stay relevant Molly and Cynthia are probably still friends,” the original poster wondered. When someone commented how Molly and Cynthia are not faking anything but in fact, even cut their friendship and business ties, user AidenRedz wrote, “they didn’t cut business at all.”
In her Instagram bio, Cynthia proudly wrote, “Owner and founder of LiviRae Lingerie, designer, TLC 90day fiancé pillow talk, & Double Divas.” The LiviRae website homepage opens up to a large picture of Molly and Cynthia smiling and welcoming potential customers to their online store. In December 2022, Cynthia posted a video on her Instagram page where she confirmed with a “yes” when asked if she’s still a part of LiviRae, and commented that she’s “not abandoned ship.»
Another Reddit user wrote, “Then the story of ‘the gal pals’ was a straight up lie, which seems to be their entire story. Molly was okay but her sidekick was better, and Molly seems to be the interfering factor in their gal pal family dynamic.» Meanwhile, Charming-Insurance added, “I think maybe it’s that both the ex bff and the x bf are supporting each other” the fan said, referring to Molly.
It’s also possible that Cynthia sided with Kelly during his altercation with Olivia. Her showing love to Kelly, while her former best friend has to deal with the repercussions of her daughter and ex-boyfriend’s drama, is a sign of where Cynthia’s sympathy lies.
However, everything in this situation has taken place so suddenly, that 90 Day Fiancé fans have no option but to be curious about the “why” and the “how.” Since fans have seen these cast members on their TV screens so often, they feel like they deserve to know what went wrong between Molly and Cynthia. It remains to be seen how long either of the parties will stay silent about the fallout.
