There’s a new plot twist in Karine and Paul Staehle’s dramatic relationship. The 90 Day Fiancé star drops her restraining order against her ex.
90 Day Fiancé star Karine reportedly dropped the protective order she obtained against her husband Paul Staehle in December 2021. Paul, 39, and 29-year-old Karine from Brazil were introduced in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 1 and got married in season 2, after which they welcomed two sons Pierre and Ethan. After several years of ups and down, Karine and Paul got into a physical fight, which was caught on camera. With Pierre being in the room at the time, Child Protective Services took their sons away, making them lose custody.
90 Day Fiancé star Karine dropped her restraining order against Paul on February 16, 2023, according to InTouch. Documents obtained by the publication confirmed that the case has since been sealed. In August 2022, Paul appealed the order, claiming the circuit court had “erroneously determined” that he had committed alleged acts of domestic violence against Karine. He claimed the court determining that Karine was at risk of future acts of domestic violence at the hands of Paul was improper. Karine reportedly filed the restraining order after the video of Karine abusing Paul was leaked, and the children were placed with a foster family.
Back in August 2020, 90 Day Fiancé star Paul claimed Karine had filed a restraining order against him after an explosive fight took place between the couple and resulted in the cops visiting their home. The dispute unfolded on Paul’s Instagram Live in a now-deleted video. Paul also filed his own protective order, after which Karine briefly had custody of Pierre, until the pair decided to drop the restraining orders in September 2020. Karine lost custody of the kids, and Paul obtained custody in December 2021. The custody battle turned out to be futile as the children are now in foster care.
In the past months, Paul and Karine tried their best to move on from their split. Paul has been in Karine’s native Brazil for the longest time, where he films content with a young 18-year-old woman who might be his new girlfriend. Karine was recently in a relationship with former Bachelorette contestant Josh Seiter but later broke up with him. In July 2022, Paul spoke about Karine trying her best to get Pierre and Ethan back. The little boys, meanwhile, are reportedly extremely loved and cared for by their new foster family, a wholesome change from how their own parents allegedly treated them.
Pierre was even reported missing when a missing persons alert was sent out by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in June 2022. He was said to have been with Paul at the time until he was returned by his father in June 2022 while the kids were in the custody of CPS. Paul revealed that he and Karine were working together to gain custody of their sons in November 2022. Several months later, in March 2023, Paul congratulated Karine on getting a new job with UPS. With Karine now dropping the restraining order, there could be a chance that the 90 Day Fiancé stars get back together.
