From Financial Guru to Tropical Fugitive: Daniele Gates Escapes to the Dominican Republic With $224,000 Debt

Daniele Gates, star of the reality show 90 Day Fiancé, has vanished from the U.S. leaving behind a staggering $224,000 debt. The influencer, who for years presented herself as a financial expert and criticized her husband Yohan for every expense, is now accused of abandoning the country and settling in the Dominican Republic, where she lives as a tax resident.

From Budget Lessons to Bankruptcy

In 2022, Gates filed for voluntary bankruptcy under Chapter 13, but later changed her case to Chapter 7, which involves liquidation of assets. According to sources, her monthly income was $1,300 less than her expenses, which led to her apartment in Yonkers being added to the debt list for $36,000.

A Track Record That Contradicts Her Image

Her liabilities include $60,000 in personal debt, $63,000 in student loans, and a shocking $80,000 in toll fees accumulated with EZPass. Gates attempted to justify part of these figures as “business debt,” but her statements on social media—where she even boasted of supposedly earning $20 million—have been strongly questioned.

Strategic Escape or New Beginning?

Her decision to settle in the Dominican Republic does not seem accidental. Since her arrival, Gates has shown on social media a relaxed lifestyle, far from the financial chaos she left behind in the U.S. Her refusal to return and her insistence on living with Yohan in the Caribbean have been interpreted by many as a strategy to avoid facing the legal consequences of her financial situation.

The Contradiction That Outrages Fans

What has most angered fans of the show is the irony: Daniele was the one who constantly lectured Yohan about expenses, budgets, and financial responsibility. Today, she is the one burdened with six-figure debt, which she left behind without looking back.
