Hannah Rubio Discharged From Hospital After Brain Bleed, Diagnosed With ‘Mild Blindness’

PHOENIX90 Day Fiancé stars Kenneth Niedermeier and Armando Rubio have shared a bittersweet update regarding their 13-year-old daughter, Hannah. Following a terrifying medical emergency that captivated fans of the TLC reality franchise, Hannah has officially been discharged from an intensive care unit in Phoenix to continue her recovery at home.

A Sudden Life-Threatening Medical Emergency

The ordeal began unexpectedly at the family’s home in Mexico when Hannah developed alarming neurological symptoms, including facial drooping and weakness affecting one side of her body. Recognizing the severity of her condition, doctors arranged an emergency medical airlift to transfer the 13-year-old from Mexican medical facilities directly to a specialized pediatric intensive care unit in Arizona.

Subsequent medical scans confirmed the cause of the crisis: an unexplained brain bleed located in the middle of her brain. The accumulated blood placed significant pressure on surrounding brain tissue, leading to temporary vision loss and lingering neurological impairment.

«My heart is full,» expressed Armando Rubio in an emotional social media update, describing the harrowing ordeal as one of the most frightening experiences of their lives.

Diagnosis, Recovery, and Unanswered Questions

While Hannah has turned a major corner by leaving the hospital, her road to recovery remains ongoing. Medical specialists have diagnosed her with mild blindness, alongside minor facial drooping and persistent weakness on one side of her body.

Her treatment plan for the next month includes:

  • Neurological Monitoring: Ongoing scans to track brain swelling and tissue recovery.
  • Medication: Daily anti-seizure regimens to prevent further complications.
  • Physical Therapy: Targeted exercises to address muscle weakness.

Despite extensive testing, doctors have been unable to determine what triggered the sudden brain bleed—an unexplained diagnosis that Rubio admitted has been deeply frustrating for the family as they seek answers. However, Niedermeier shared a message of hope, noting that medical professionals remain optimistic her vision will improve as her body naturally reabsorbs the pooled blood.

Border Hurdles and a Reunited Family

The medical emergency was further complicated by international legal hurdles. Initial visa issues prevented Armando Rubio from immediately crossing the U.S. border to join his daughter during her airlift. Following urgent intervention by an immigration attorney, Rubio was granted permission to enter the United States on July 17, reuniting with Hannah and Kenneth in Phoenix.

The family plans to remain in the Phoenix area for the foreseeable future to stay close to Hannah’s medical team during her rehabilitation. They expressed immense gratitude to their global fanbase for the outpouring of prayers, messages, and donations during their crisis.
