LOS ANGELES — Just months after one of the most tumultuous splits in reality television history, Michael Ilesanmi is officially making his return to the screen. TLC has announced that the Nigerian native will star in the brand-new franchise spinoff, 90 Day: Hunt For Love, premiering Monday at 8:00 PM ET.
Described as «divorced, determined, and looking for love,» Michael’s casting has immediately set social media ablaze, igniting heated debates among fans and legal observers who followed his high-profile fallout with ex-wife Angela Deem.
From Courtroom Battles to Dating Shows: The Controversial Timeline
Michael’s inclusion in the new series comes on the heels of a series of dark and highly publicized events that nearly derailed his status in the United States:
- The Disappearance Shockwave: Earlier this year, Michael made national headlines after fleeing the Georgia home he shared with Angela Deem shortly after arriving in the country on his spousal visa, claiming he feared for his personal safety.
- Annulment and Fraud Accusations: Angela Deem filed for an annulment, publicly accusing Michael of marrying her solely for a green card and engaged in financial manipulation. The brutal legal back-and-forth left viewers divided over who was telling the truth.
- Rebuilding in America: Despite ongoing legal proceedings and threats of deportation from Angela’s legal team, Michael remained in the U.S., leveraging his massive social media following to pivot back into the reality TV spotlight.
Backlash and Anticipation: Fans Divided Over TLC’s Decision
While a large segment of the fanbase is eager to see Michael get a fresh start away from Angela’s explosive temper, critics are questioning the network’s choice to cast him while his immigration and marital status disputes remain fresh:
«Is TLC rewarding green card clout-chasing, or giving a survivor of a toxic marriage a real second chance?» questioned one online commentator as the teaser trailer dropped.
With 90 Day: Hunt For Love, TLC is leaning heavily into single franchise alumni searching for romance under new rules. However, with Angela Deem known for her unannounced appearances and vocal social media rants, producers are likely bracing for off-camera chaos as the season unfolds.
