The Montreal Canadiens announced a series of roster moves on Saturday as training camp intensifies, narrowing their group to 34 players ahead of the final stretch of preseason preparations.
Twenty-four players have been reassigned to the Laval Rocket, the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate, whose training camp opens Tuesday, September 30. The group includes 14 forwards, six defensemen, and four goaltenders, many of whom are expected to play key roles in Laval’s upcoming campaign.

Forwards: Vincent Arseneau, Laurent Dauphin, Jared Davidson, Will Dineen, Joe Dunlap, Mark Estapa, Egor Goriunov, Riley Kidney, Filip Mesar, Israel Mianscum, Joshua Roy, Xavier Simoneau, Tyler Thorpe, Luke Tuch Defensemen: Josh Jacobs, Charles Martin, Tobie Bisson, Darick Louis-Jean, Ryan O’Rourke, Wyatte Wylie Goaltenders: Jacob Fowler, Benjamin Gaudreau, Hunter Jones, Kevin Mandolese
In a separate move, forward Vinzenz Rohrer will join the Zurich Lions in the Swiss National League, continuing his development overseas.
Following these adjustments, 34 players remain in camp: 19 forwards, 12 defensemen, and three goaltenders. The Canadiens will resume training Monday at the CN Sports Complex in Brossard, where competition for roster spots is expected to intensify.
With preseason games underway and opening night fast approaching, Montreal’s coaching staff is focused on evaluating talent, building chemistry, and finalizing the lineup that will carry the torch into the 2025–26 NHL season.
