BROSSARD, QC — Following the conclusion of training camp on Sunday, the Montreal Canadiens announced a series of roster adjustments as they prepare to open the regular season.
Three players have been loaned to the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League: forwards Owen Beck and Florian Xhekaj, along with defenseman Adam Engstrom. These assignments aim to provide the young talents with consistent ice time and continued development in Laval’s competitive environment.
Additionally, forward Samuel Blais and goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen have been placed on waivers as of 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Both players will be available for claim by other NHL teams before potentially joining Laval if they clear waivers.
The Canadiens will hold practices on Monday and Tuesday at the CN Sports Complex in Brossard before traveling to Toronto for their regular season opener on Wednesday.
