Former Nebraska standout Samori Toure has found a new home in the NFL. After being waived by the Chicago Bears in August, the wide receiver signed Monday with the Denver Broncos and has been added to the team’s 17-man practice squad.
Toure joins the Broncos as they prepare for their international matchup against the New York Jets in London next week, following a victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. His addition bolsters Denver’s depth at receiver and offers a fresh opportunity for the former Husker to reestablish himself in the league.
Drafted in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers, Toure recorded 13 receptions for 160 yards and one touchdown across two seasons. He spent the 2024 season on the Bears’ practice squad and participated in preseason action this year, catching five passes for 72 yards in three games before being released during final roster cuts.
