«Make It Relevant Again»: Future Husker QB Trae Taylor Wins Over Nebraska Fans with Bold Promise

The hype surrounding Nebraska’s Class of 2027 has reached a fever pitch, and at the center of the storm is four-star quarterback Trae Taylor. The blue-chip recruit, who chose the Huskers over heavyweights like LSU and Michigan, isn’t just winning on the field—he’s winning hearts in Lincoln with a mindset focused on restoration.

«I want to bring Nebraska back again,» Taylor recently declared, acknowledging the storied history of the program. While fans have heard similar promises before—most notably from Dylan Raiola, who has since moved on to Oregon—Taylor’s commitment feels different. The young QB has already transferred to a Nebraska high school for his senior season to cement his ties to the state. «It’s a blue-chip school… everybody knows about it from the 90s. Let’s make it relevant in the 2000s,» Taylor added, praising Coach Matt Rhule for giving him the «lead-off» in the race to return Nebraska to national prominence.

The Stats Behind the Hype

Taylor isn’t just talk. In his 2025 varsity season, he posted video-game numbers: completing nearly 82 percent of his passes for 3,571 yards and 38 touchdowns, with only three interceptions. His dual-threat capability added another 633 yards and 12 scores on the ground. As the cornerstone of a 2027 class that currently ranks 14th nationally, Taylor is the face of a new era that many believe will finally finish what others started.
