Nebraska football continues to build momentum in its 2027 recruiting class with the addition of four-star wide receiver Jabari Watkins. The standout from Thomas County Central High School in Georgia announced his commitment to the Cornhuskers on Friday, choosing the Big Red over a host of top programs including Florida State, Arkansas, Cal, Missouri, Ole Miss, and UCF.
Watkins, who stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs 180 pounds, had narrowed his options to a final four of Nebraska, Cal, Florida State, and Illinois earlier this September. His decision marks a significant win for Nebraska’s recruiting efforts as they aim to strengthen their offensive arsenal for the future.
As a sophomore, Watkins showcased his playmaking ability by recording 39 receptions for 692 yards and five touchdowns. His performance has earned him national recognition, with 247Sports ranking him as the No. 203 overall prospect in the country and the No. 29 wide receiver, carrying an impressive rating of 90.
